Rose Topiary

Hi Everyone!  Hope you all had a great Monday.  We really enjoyed the weather the last couple days in the 50s! It really feel like spring is finally coming!  So the other day Denise and I were at the dollar store and saw these really cute roses.  They come in a pack of 9 and are soap petals.  I was excited because of the color, my husband and I recently re-did our powder room and I have been having a hard time finding items to decorate with.  So Denise suggested to try to make a topiary out of these roses. I said Ok!  It was really easy and I love the way it turned out! I used about 6 boxes. I was going to make two but ran out of roses!  I will have to get more.

Some spots will have holes where you can clearly see the styrofoam underneath.  What you can do is take a rose and open the pedals a little and the center will come out as a smaller rose.  You can use these to fill the holes.

For the stem I used 3 shish kabob skewers!  You could always use a dowel rod I just didn't have any at home.  I wrapped them in a shinny white ribbon, but I changed my mind and changed it to a burlap ribbon.  The white was a little too dressy for me.

I also took the burlap ribbon and made a couple bows and glued them on the bottom of the topiary to finish it off!

I really was a very easy project and I love the way it turned out, and the bathroom smells great!  I will also be sharing the reveal of our powder room!  Stay tuned, thanks everyone for stopping by! :)

    2. How did you attach the roses to the styrofoam ball?

    3. Hi Cathy, sorry I left that part out for some reason! I used a hot glue gun. I just put a dab on the rose and held it on the styrofoam ball for a minute or so.

  9. Oh, what a creative idea. I had to comment on this post too because I love roses so much. These blue soap roses are so pretty, and you made a delightful little tree with them. I love the color too.
